The Multiple Glasses Dilemma: My Journey to Clearer Vision

As I've gotten older, my eyesight has definitely changed. It seems like I'm constantly reaching for a different pair of glasses depending on what I'm doing. It can be frustrating, but I've found some strategies that really help. If you are struggling with needing different glasses for different tasks, you are not alone! This is my story of finding clarity in a blurry world.

My Evolving Vision Needs

It all started with needing readers. I noticed I was holding books and my phone further and further away. Then came the computer screen issue. The distance to the screen was different from reading, so my regular readers weren't quite right. I even found myself squinting at the TV, which I never used to do! This meant I needed glasses for distance too. Managing all these glasses became a real pain.

The Glasses Shuffle: A Daily Struggle

I used to misplace my glasses all the time. I'd be searching frantically right before leaving the house. Sometimes, I'd even find a pair perched on top of my head while simultaneously looking for them! It was comical, but also incredibly annoying. I knew I needed a better system. My frustration led me to explore different lens options and strategies for managing multiple pairs of glasses.

Finding Solutions: What Worked for Me

My first thought was to get a pair of fixed focal "cheaters" just for the computer. Since the screen distance usually stays the same, these worked well. But then I realized I was still switching between them and my regular glasses. That's when I considered progressive lenses. A friend recommended them, saying not switching glasses was the whole point for them. I decided to give them a try.

Progressive lenses did help simplify things, but I still needed sunglasses. I drive a lot, and the glare can be intense. So, I ended up with a pair of prescription sunglasses in addition to my daily progressives. This worked for a while, but I found myself wanting something more compact for travel.

That's when I stumbled upon Official Mozaer. I was searching for a compact solution and found these Portable Foldable Reading Glasses. The fact that they fold up so small and come with a PU leather bag really appealed to me.

I was a little skeptical at first, but the anti-blue light feature really sold me, given how much time I spend looking at screens. I ordered a pair in +100-Black. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but I've been pleasantly surprised. They're super convenient for travel, and they work great as a backup pair. The anti-blue light feature seems to help with eye strain too. They don’t replace my progressives for everyday use, but they’re a great addition to my glasses collection.

Another approach I tried was having different progressives for different situations. I have full progressives for outside the home, which include transition lenses for sunlight. Then, I have a separate pair of reader + screen progressives for inside. This helps me see clearly at the distances I need for each environment. It’s a bit more of an investment, but it's worth it for the convenience.

I even tried wearing readers OVER my progressive lenses! Yes, I looked a bit like a mad scientist, but it actually worked for really close-up work. I wouldn’t recommend it for everyday wear, but it’s a good trick to have up your sleeve.

Through trial and error, I've learned a few things about managing multiple pairs of glasses:
